Andy Carroll leads Chelsea’s three-man striker shortlist to challenge Alvaro Morata

Chelsea will ramp up their efforts to sign a striker in January and have drawn up a three-man shortlist which is led by West Ham forward Andy Carroll, according to reports.

The Blues are yet to win in 2018 and have played out three consecutive goalless draws, with club-record signing Alvaro Morata struggling in front of goal during English football’s gruelling winter fixture list.

Antonio Conte has wanted a new striker for some time due to doubts over Michy Batshuayi, but was beaten to long-time target Fernando Llorente by Tottenham.
